Picasso is a Communist, me neither - Salvador Dali

Hello....Hello.....HELLO....

There's a new girl here at work that's driving everyone nuts. Please excuse my hostile overtones...

Not much to report today. I'm still training people with little or no experience to do my job... This place has at the least (or most, depending on how you look at it) granted me a lot of insight into the bazaar, fucked-up world of business development...foto by fellow flickrista http://www.flickr.com/photos/99118566@N00/

THIS IS: really the strangest environment I've ever worked in...perhaps even stranger than pulling hairs out of *80yr old Ms. Marple's chin for $3 an hour; BUT it does boil WORKING down to its essence. I am here for the money. We are all here for the money, which is why I want out.

SUM BACKGROUND: The CEO (who incidentally lives and works in Toronto) has implemented a flat structure, which basically means: CEO = King and all others serve wishes and commands of CEO; although gently tucked under the guise of fairness. However, since there is no one really making decisions, nothing gets done in an organized way. Furthermore, the CEO directly benefits from the work WE do. We don't see the millions of dollars coming in from sales...the CEO sells our work and runs with the cash and because it's a small company, it's harder to hide the truth and easier to see the corruption...

Am I addicted to HOPE? Hello?

NOW: I'm moving...I'm going to school and...I'll have another chance right? even though I KNOW the ideal isn't out there and that all jobs suck in their own way and that sooner or later and I will be disappointed.. I somehow convince myself that the perfect seamless fit is out there. it's always been my imagination that's kept me going (and alchohol)...

I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed.

-Lloyd Dobler

The ILLUSIVE, naive, impractical PLAN of the much debated and anticipated, heavenly commune is tiptoeing into my thoughts. Is it really the plan that is impractical? Isn't working for assholes impractical? Making OTHER, more stupider people REALLY REALLY rich? EVERY DAY of YOUR LIFE (except weekends)

In conclusion (this one is for Seth)...

"Since it is not for us to create a plan for the future that will hold for all time, all the more surely, what we contemporaries have to do is the uncompromising critical evaluation of all that exists, uncompromising in the sense that our criticism fears neither its own results nor the conflict with the powers that be."

- Karl Marx
