HOTDOGS and JEFF GOLDBLUM

Hey Chadley. Thanks for the hotdogs and the new Paul Simon album, even though he is New Age....
WELL - The weekend is over. What is up with Americans? Two days is NOT ENOUGH TIME to do anything...or really relax and feel like a person...or get drunk and recover....FUCK this country...PLUS, instead of my usual doing whatever I want weekend time, my house boy is working so my weekends are now filled with chores and sleeping and eating: BTW yesterday was Hebrew National and sunshine at the smoothie house.....yummeh
Before the MOVIE NEWS:
I have a new section called : "DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID"
Do not send back your netflix without the little movie sleeve (that tells you the plot) they will not recognize that you sent back your movie without that sleeve, even though they have the ACTUAL movie and are probably making money off it...
NETFLIX UPDATE: Seth and watched "The Fly" last night which, although made in 1986, held up to the usual Cronenberg standard of excellence. NOT TO MENTION: Geena Davis's shoulder pads are AWESOME.
Cronenberg's filmic affectations often parallel each other...they are, of course, autobiographical as the protagonists are often conflicted men, laced with desperation, sex, desire, changing... in The Fly, Cronenberg made a very informed cameo as the gynecologist, aborting the fly pupae from Geena Davis as she screams in horror.
nice.
I've also decided that the reason Jeff Goldblum is so watchable is either because he's an amazing actor or a really REALLY bad one...
comments? Mike?
Some say he's bad/good because he's always just Jeff Goldblum, kinda like Val Kilmer or Jack Nicholson...
PLUS he was in Cat's and Dogs for christ sake (is it christ's sake or christ sake?)
thinking.....To Jeff or not to Jeff..?? christ's sake or christ sake..??
In other news, we're still on the look out for the PERFECT VAN....but really, who isn't? There must be a summer shortage... HOWEVER, if anyone sees the PERFECT VAN and doesn't want it for themselves, please tell us. We'll make you some kick ass spaghetti carbonara and give you free rides in exchange.
....I'm on my home computer and having an insane deja vu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deja_vousabout about lecturing Seth on "wishing" you did something that you didn't...
SPEAKING OF REGRET, in honor of yesterday's Hallmark holiday, here's a picture of my mother when she was very young. She was a hottie, maybe that's why she was a mess. Another topic of discussion Sex and the City style: Are hot girls messes BECAUSE they're hot?
Moving on...while looking at my home computer and all my old fav sites, I came across this great site that I used to frequent http://www.artincontext.org/listings/images/discipl/photog0L.htm
There are LOTS of photographs and artists on this page...some good and some bad, but it's very random if you just click through...anyway, for people who "have time on their hands"...
I also linked to this photographer, Terry Evans. http://www.edelmangallery.com/evansA.htm I'm a little obsessed with arial photography...maybe it's the term of Urban Planning at UH, but the way cities look from up there fascinates me...also the way people and houses look from above...and from below...and the way people look when they walk around in their houses from room to room...
Dig image taken from slide view, transposed in photoshop. Taken by either myself or M. Castillo.
Until the day after today...
ttfn,
Alicia
